Yvonne Hsi
Yvonne Hsi

Teaching and sharing fitness has given Yvonne a great sense of job satisfaction especially watching participants walking away from her classes with satisfaction and different levels of achievement.

Yvonne started teaching high intensity fitness classes in 2000 and it was from a serious neck injury caused by long hours of architectural design work over the drawing board that has led her to Yoga, Pilates and the Gyrotonic method. 

The Pilates rehabilitation sessions helped Yvonne to recover and strengthen with such dual succession that it was only natural to want to learn more and share the benefits with all clients.   Subsequently, the certification of Polestar Mat and Allegro were shortly met with the full training in Studio series under the guidence of Polestar Asia Head Educator, Sam Robinson. 

As a natural progression, under the guidance of Gyrotonic Master Trainer and Polestar Asia Pilates Director, Dawnna Wayburne, Yvonne is very lucky to further her studies and expand her training to the GYROTONIC® system.  The Gyrotonic method opened her to yet another challenge of training in integrated non-linear and fully articulated movements.

With the guidence of Carolyne Anthony, founder of The Center For Women's Fitness, Yvonne continues to expand her knowledge in Pre/Postnatal Specialist program.    With a collaboration of physiotherapists in the studio, Yvonne is teaching pre and postnatal mothers, clients with injuries and pathologies. 

Yvonne teaches both private and group Pilates Mat, Mat with props, Prenatal Pilates, fitball, Allegro, Studio, Gyrotonic and Leg Extenssion Unit.  In addition, as a Mentor and Educator for Polestar Pilates Asia, Yvonne also teaches Polestar Pilates certification courses locally and throughout Asia. She is available to offer mentor sessions in preparation for certification exams.

Aya Kitamichi

Hello Everyone! I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you about how I got started with Pilates. From as far back as I can remember I have always been a very active person; whether it was with gymnastics, social dance, jazz dancing or sports. I currently still dance and play a lot of basketball!

Even though, I have been fairly active my whole life I had always been frustrated with my flexibility, poor body movement and body control.

Originally, I started Pilates for my beauty and health but the results that I have achieved through Pilates have helped me in all areas of my life.  Being a very active person I have seen dramatic improvements in my agility, strength and coordination for my sports performance.  In my daily life I have noticed that not only am I less tired and stressed but I am finding myself being more energetic and positive.  The combination of feeling great and being in great shape has really changed the way I look at life, and I truly believe that I have Pilates to thank for this.

I hope to be able to share with you my passion of Pilates and more importantly I would love to be there with you step by step as we take positive steps in improving your beauty, health and fitness.

2006年より香港の航空会社で勤務。現役客室乗務員として乗務。

幼いころの新体操を始め、水泳、社交ダンス、バスケットボールと身体を動かすことが大好き。好奇心旺盛なため、2009年ミスユニバーサルジャパンセミファイナリスト、ミス沖縄DFSファイナリスト、某ブランドウォーキングショー、韓国化粧品のスチールモデルなども経験。 

仕事柄不規則な生活なので、疲れにくくバランスのとれた引き締まった身体にしたいと思っていた中、出会ったものがピラティスでした。

身体が引き締まったことは勿論、自分の身体を知ることができ、身体の中心が強くバランスがよくなりバスケットプレーが安定する、怪我をしにくくなるなど様々な効果が、衝撃的で魅力的でありピラティスインストラクターの資格を取得。

人間の身体は日常の動きの癖や姿勢、重力により人それぞれ筋肉の付き方、使い方が大きく異なります。自分の身体と向き合い、強化できるのがピラティスエクササイズの大きなメリットだと思います。同時に、身体と心とのつながりも大切にしていきたいと思います。

皆さんと一緒に楽しくレッスンをしながら、身体の変化に少しずつ気付いて頂けたら幸せです!

CK Chu

CK, (also known as Spirine) worked as a personal trainer in a physiotherapy centre after graduation. Witnessing the improvement progress of patients provides him with not only job satisfaction but also further motivates his determination to help patients recover by rehabilitation through exercise.

CK certified as an Advanced Personal Fitness Trainer under AASFP which kick started his journey to being a fitness instructor. With enthusiasm in sports and curiosity in various exercise modalities, he believes sharing is also another way of learning. Becoming an Exercise Ball Instructor, Certified Yoga Teacher and Polestar Pilates Mat Instructor, he turns learning into practice and sharing with others.

Darren Ho

As an ultra trail and marathon runner, Darren had experienced a serious injury on his knee. Meanwhile, he was working in a local accounting firm as a professional auditor. Like many professionals, he suffered from different kinds of pain caused by the stress and pressure of prolonged office work.

In early 2012, he has beed introduced to Pilates and therapeutic exercise training as a rehabilitation training. Those training brought him an enormous change on his body posture and body awareness, as well as improvement of sports performance. In order to satisfy his curiosity, he has participated in the Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Education program in early 2014. He is a certified Instructor in Pilates Mat, Pilates Reformer and Pilates Studio. He has also obtained the GYROTONIC® Level 1 certification. Darren combines his love for learning with his passion for fitness, he decided to become a full-time Pilates instructor.  Darren is a high-intensity trainer whose enthusiasm for positive wellbeing is infectious. And he has recently shifted his focus to include Pilates and therapeutic exercise rehabilitation.

In addition to being certified from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as an International Personal Trainer, and Corrective Exercise Specialist.  He is also certified in TRX Suspension Training, Running Technique Specialist (Pose Method Running), Rehabilitation Trainer (REHAB TRAINER), and Advanced Therapeutic Exercise Instructor (ATFP).

Diana Yam

Diana is a certified Pilates Mat and Reformer instructor and is currently obtaining Studio Comprehensive certification with Polestar Pilates.  Diana was first introduced to Pilates while taking Pilates Barre class one summer and has immediately developed a strong interest with the movement.

While practicing, she observed how her body is rapidly changing from posture to muscle tone. This led her to complete Polestar Pilates Teacher Training Program in 2019. Aside from Pilates, Diana also enjoys taking long runs in the summer and snowboarding in the winter.

Eva Ip

Eva is working full time in the management of Sports, Recreation, Fitness and Wellness since from her graduation from Sports & Recreation Management in HK.

Keep enriching her Fitness knowledge by getting certifications in Personal Training (NSCA), Sports Massage, Active Isolated Stretching, Bosu Training, Power Plate, Myofascial Compression technique and Pilates.

She found Pilates is the most comprehensive exercise and delicate body movement which is suitable for all with different needs. She loves Pilates the most not only because the exercise is focus on small muscles but also increase own body awareness.

Through her full time working and part time teaching, she enjoy to share health, Fitness & Wellness knowledge with anyone who would love to spend time and effort on their own body for physical and mental health.

Eva is a Polestar Pilates Mentor-in-Training for Polestar Pilates Asia and will be mentoring Studio students in both English and Cantonese in preparation for certification exams shortly.

Ming Ma

Ming used to spend long hours sitting in front of computers at work for marketing communications in different industries like automotive, telecommunications and banking.

It was not until she started practising pilates that she realised she had poor posture that her body was out of alignment, as it is very common nowadays.

Pilates is her first fitness love, she benefited in boosting the body awareness by building up her inner muscles.  “I feel so good that I feel like I can stand up taller with wide shoulders and nice body shape, which improves confidence too”. 

Not only improving and maintaining good body posture, she got stronger by building up whole body strength that brought her into functional fitness as she is also a running enthusiast.  She crossed her first Marathon finishing line in Osaka in 2016.  “Lucky that I practised Pilates before I started running so that I can build up my muscles  to avoid problems of having flat feet and stronger core to maintain my better running form to finish the race”.  

Now she wants to share her experience and would love to help her clients to achieve a true and healing spiritual journey by sharing the joy and inspiration that Pilates can bring to our inner-self.

Mio Takagi

Mio has been very athletic ever since she was small and has played so many different sports. She belonged to a competitive basketball team and ski team during her high school and college days respectively and got injured various parts of body which has caused pain ever since.

Due to sports injuries, long working hours in the office, then pregnancy, her poor posture and back pain kept bothering her without her knowing the cause of it. She had hard time losing weight after she stopped playing sports and especially after giving a birth.  She practiced Yoga before being introduced to Pilates and was even thinking about joining pre/post-natal Yoga training course since she felt the benefit of pre/post-natal exercise. However as soon as she started practicing Pilates, She realised the positive effect on her body such as reducing back pain, better posture, building well-balanced muscle and weight loss. She quickly decided to join the Polestar Pilates training course, then pre/post-natal course by The Center For Women's Fitness to deepen her knowledge in Pilates, body mechanism and women's health so that she can share her experience with people who are seeking solutions for their goals.  

Mio is a Polestar Pilates Mentor for Polestar Pilates Asia and can mentor Studio students in both English and Japanese in preparation for certification exams.

幼少の頃から活発で様々なスポーツに関わってきました。高校時代には、バスケットボールでインターハイを目指し、大学時代にはスキーで大会に出場。そのため怪我が絶えず、それらのスポーツをやめた後まで痛みは残りました。社会人になってからは、労働時間が長くそれらの痛みが悪化。妊娠を経て、体重の増加も含め、自分の体の変化に対応しきれず悩んでいた頃、ピラティスに出会いました。もともとヨガを練習しており、マタニティー・産後ヨガのレッスン受講、その道へ進もうかとも考えていましたが、怪我が多い上に体が硬いこともあり、自分にはピラティスからの効果の方が得やすいことを実感。さらに知識を深めるために、一般的なピラティスの資格のみにとどまらず、女性の体の変化に対応するためのマタニティー・産後に特化したピラティスの資格も取得しました。私の経験と知識を皆さんとシェアすることで、目標達成のお手伝いができればと思っています。

Then came a turning point when I encountered Pilates just after I my second baby.

I started taking Pilates lessons every week and felt really great. It was a kind of revelation to me to find out that it tones up your core muscles without hard cardio workout while you are lying most of the time. I could feel I was improving little by little, week by week, which was very rewarding as well as reassuring. Some months later I started taking up ballet and running again after a long break and realized a noticeable change in movement and awareness, all thanks to Pilates. Motivated by this personal experience, I have further explored the art of Pilates and have recently got the Mat certification. 

I look forward to sharing this wonderful experience of mine with everybody, young or old, athletes or non-athletes. It would make me happy if I could help my clients feel the same way I feel.

私は十代の頃、新体操を好きになり、ひとりでトレーニングを始めて以来、

その他に、バレエ、ランニング、ボクシング、エアロビクスなどさまざまなスポーツを

してきました。激しい運動以外あまり、興味を持っていませんでしたが、第二子を出産後、ピラティスと出会い、横になったままでも体を鍛えられる、というその運動スタイルに魅了されました。  大きな動きをしなくても、筋肉を十分に鍛えられるということは

私にとって驚きでした。 そして、ピラティスを続けていくと、できなかったことが

できるようになるという、喜びも感じ、さらにランニング、バレエを再開してからは、

体の動きが良くなっていたのです。

  このような体験をし、ピラティスをより深く学びたいと思い、マットの資格を

取得しました。

Orie Nash

Orie has been always enthusiastic by body movement. She was in the running team, ski team, volleyball team and has always really enjoyed sports. Orie first encountered pilates through her best friend who had become a pilates instructor and asked her to give it a try.

Orie felt the changes of her body immediately, so she signed up for the course to learn more about pilates. Being a pilates instructor as a career was so natural to Orie as she enjoys the benefits of pilates herself while sharing the benefits with family and friends.

Orie is now certified as mat & reformer pilates instructor under Polestar. Now her passion is improving and reforming the human body, especially for women.

As a mother of two boys, she herself experienced the change of body and mind throughout the prenatal / postnatal period. She realized how important it is to have knowledge about our own body and its movement. Taking Carolyne Anthony's prenatal/post natal course really opened her eyes to the power of us as instructors with Carolyne's methods to reform the female body. Orie now teaches prenatal classes in which she takes great pleasure sharing her knowledge and experience with ladies and enjoys inspiring others to reach their potential.

子供のころから身体を動かすのが好きで、いろんなスポーツに挑戦してきました。ピラティスを始めたきっかけは、親友がピラティスを始めて、彼女の変化を目の当たりにしたからです。ピラティスを始めて筋肉が増えたことによって新陳代謝がよくなり、風邪をひきにくく太りにくい体になりました。またピラティスによってできる筋肉はしなやかな筋肉なので、女性らしさを保ちながら鍛えた体をつくってくれます。

子供二人産んでからは特に、女性がたどる妊娠、出産、産後という大きな体の変化にどう向き合っていくか、ということに関心が大きくなり、女性のためのピラティスに特化したキャロライン アンソニーのメソッドを習得し、産前ピラティスのクラスも受け持っています。

忙しい香港での生活において、自分の体と向き合うことの難しい多くの皆様と一緒に体をリリースして筋肉のアライメントを整え、それから効率的に鍛えてしなやかな筋肉をつくり、怪我のしにくい健康で引き締まった体をつくっていきたいと思っています。

Rachel Wong

Rachel was introduced to Pilates in 2010 by her physiotherapist as a post-rehabilitation exercise due to chronic tension in her back as a result of scoliosis. She witnessed the remarkable relief of pain and improvment in her posture and mobility.

She was then inspired to start her journey towards becoming a qualified Polestar Pilates Instructor. Rachel wants to share and encourage others to enjoy the benefits and transformation she personally experienced. 

In addition, as a Studio Mentor for Polestar Pilates Asia, Rachel is available to offer study groups in preparation for Studio certification exams for students.

Swen Wong

Swen is passionate to share fitness and happy heart with people. Being a Pilates Instructor, Yoga Teacher and an Aerial yoga enthusiast, she enjoys much from growing and learning with her students and mates.

Her philosophy of living is to enjoy life to the fullest with a healthy body and sound mind. She has many in her plates, such as dancing, drumming, horse riding, skiing etc. Regular training in Yoga and Pilates provides her a good foundation to improve the performance in her favourite activities which requires better muscle strength, more flexibility, coordination and good reaction time.

Through giving classes and consultation, she hopes to help achieve students' fitness goals and keep up positive vibes.

CURRENTLY ON SABBATICAL. Yoshiko originally came to Hong Kong in 1993 to work as cabin attendant. As an active working mother of three children, Yoshiko enjoys going to the gym and it was through there she came to learn about pilates for which she had an instant love for.
